The Devon Autism Centre is owned and run by Silvia H Panella and Simon Haywood.
Silvia obtained her psychology degree in Barcelona and has a specialism in Autism Spectrum Conditions. She has a Postgraduate Certificate in Asperger's Syndrome and an MA in Autism, both from Sheffield Hallam University. She is currently undertaking her PhD in Education specialising in Autism, also at Sheffield Hallam University whilst working as an Autism Specialist Consultant.
Silvia's research aims to understand the process of social referencing in neuro-typical children as well as those with Autism. The findings of her research will have a direct impact on early diagnosis as well as interventions for individuals with Autism.
Silvia was an RDI consultant until 2014. She continues to support families and individuals with Autism using a combination of therapeutic interventions and strategies, as well as providing consultancy and training to other professionals and organisations. Additionally, Silvia is trained in SCERTS model, as well as ADOS and ADI-R and she holds a Level 2 in Narrative Therapy.
